Are you thinking what I'm thinking?

Whenever I accidentally word vomit to my parents that I'm going out with a guy, they remind me to not have sex on a first date.

"He'll think you're easy," my mother always says.

"Wait a year," my father once told me.

"You're crazy," I responded. "If my brother was dating a woman who wouldn't have sex with him for a year, you would tell him to dump her ass."

"Yes," he said, "but he's not my daughter."

But it's not just generations past that judge when to have sex on a date. Recently, when I revealed to my friends that I hadn't yet done the deed with my new beau, their jaws dropped.

Parents who choose to circumcise their male child don't often consider the fate of their boy's future sexual experiences -- and certainly don't care about how his future partners might feel.

But it matters to many of us, and it's not until the initial unveiling do partners see what they've got to work with. (Does anyone ask, "Are you circumcised or uncircumcised?" on a first date? Uhhh...let's hope not.)

Unless you've been sexually deprived or really repressed, everyone's had mind-blowing sex; at least I'd hope so. That being said, there was a recent report that not only is this healthy, but believe it or not, can wipe your mind completely clean.

Florists, jewelers and other businesses that peddle clichéd trappings of romance experience a Viagra-like boost in sales around Valentine's Day. I was curious to see if businesses that sell a more male-centric vision of romance--i.e. sex and physical affection--experience a similar spike.
