The Gay Men's Chorus of Los Angeles (GMCLA,) The Broad Stage and Speak Theater Arts today announced the participants for The Laramie Project, Ten Years Later...an Epilogue on October 12th at 7:30 pm at The Eli and Edythe Broad Stage in Santa Monica -- based on the original work from Moises Kaufamn's Tectonic Theater Project.
The event features Mary McDonnell, Mary McCormack, Sharon Lawrence, Doug Spearman, Charlotte Rae, and City of West Hollywood Councilmember John Duran. Music will include selections by Rufus Wainwright, the Dixie Chicks, Rodgers and Hammerstein, Bob Dylan, and Sons of the Pioneers. Recording artist Randi Driscoll will also perform live.
Proceeds from the evening will benefit GMCLA's AMP (A-LIVE Music Project), a new high school music education program that also focuses on combating bullying and violence against LGBT students. General admission tickets here. VIP tickets here.
LOVE JUNKIE
On Oct. 11, at 6:30 p.m., members of The Antaeus Theatre Company, directed by Arye Gross, will present Love Junkie, A Performance Piece at Frank Pictures Gallery in Santa Monica, against the backdrop of provocative photographs and paintings by Emma Ferreira. The evening will feature a dramatic re-telling of scenes from Rachel Resnick's new book, Love Junkie about sexual addiction and recovery, followed by a Q&A with Resnick. The event is hosted by author Resnick and Laurie Frank.
The event will also feature members of the Antaeus Theatre Company, and guests: psychologist-author Judith Orloff, author Janet Fitch (White Oleander) actress Victoria Tennant and film/TV director Allison Anders.
