Even if the kit was made just for the humor in having it, that doesn't make it a fake kit, the parts are all real. I have made many vampire hunting kits myself and always try to find the most authentic items to put in them- and have found it to be a very affordable hobby. I do agree with the complaint however, that a "real" hunter would more likely use a utility belt, bag, or simply large trench coat pockets, but for the home owners 'just in case' shelf, the kit works just fine. and for the record: rule 1 of vampire hunting: if you think your neighbor is a murderous bloodsucking vampire, call the police- do not resort to manslaughter.

• I have just read these comments and they are facinating. I am English, my wife is Italian. We live in the UK but often visit family in Italy. When my wife's Grandmother passed away we brought several items back to England, items from her house in the hills of Casino, Italy. Obviously most was brought back for sentimental reasons and is only of interest to us, but two things we kept because we were absolutely shocked to find them as they both appear to relate to vampire hunting or killing. My wife's Grandmother was a perfectly normal and very kind woman and we were shocked to discover these things. My wife's mother remembers seeing one of the items during her childhood but not the other. Item one is an old leather bag containing some wooden stakes and a wooden hammer. Also inside is an old Bible in Italian. The other item, which my wife's mother remembers seeing before, is a well made wooden box with the initials "HH" on the lid. The inside is fitted out and contains a wooden hammer, four wooden stakes, two crucifix's, a glass bottle with stopper, two small bottles with corks, a bible (in English)and a band as worn by priests around their shoulders. There is no label anywhere, it looks like the box was made up specially to someone's personal requirements. Neither of these "kits" look anything like the pictures posted. We are not the least bit interested in "vampires" but discovering these strange things in an ordinary house in rural Italy aroused our interest somewhat hence our internet search for more information and thankfully this forum posting. I'm not sure how to post pictures on here but will willingly do so if someone will educate me. I hope they will be of interest. I've found nothing like them on the net. Just what to do with them is a bit of a problem also!

Holy water is carried in squeezable plastic bottles or even in super soakers as invented by the famous Frog brothers. The most modern innovations are high powered UV lights operated like the military claymore mine.
