• You know what, I just can't believe the greed and cruelty some humans exhibit. They treat poor defenseless animals like crap, and use them for whatever dark purpose they desire. I take that back. • OK...there is a current scientific controversy going on around cavies, or guinea pigs as they are commonly known. They may very well be Lagomorpha like rabbits. Or they could still be rodents. Not only the common guinea pig but also other cavies like the currently "biggest rodent in the world" Capybara hang in the balance of this controversy. Not all of these piggies look like they are enjoying this. The "super piggy" in particular looks REAL MAD. But some look very placid and happy. I suspect these are the ones handled by humans since birth. I miss my two rescue piggy girls, La Diva Inti and Yma Sumac. I had them for 6 1/2 years before I lost them. One of the heartbreaking realities of having "pocket pets" is that their lifespans are kind of short. They were not the most well-socialized critters in the world but they were adorable, and I was their willing minion.

• I think people should let animals be animals and not dress them up like humans. Are these animals really happy like this. It may seem fun to us, but naturally these animals live differently. Take into consideration how the animal feels.

Most people I know (myself included) who volunteer for animal causes spend as much time or more volunteering for people causes too. What are YOU doing to feed the world? • Hey Marissa, you should try eating one, very tasty. So here is an idea, why dont you take rescued guinea pigs and send them to starving countries. Guinea pigs are very good protein source. Here is another idea for you; why dont you volunteer at local hospital or nursing home, make yourself useful

• Rabbits aren't rodents, they are lagomorphs. =P These are really cute, but the leash in the last picture is a really bad idea. I volunteer for a guinea rescue and we've seen guinea pigs injured by leashes, including broken backs. (Running balls are an awful idea, too.)
