LAWEES ON MONDAY

The 32nd annual L.A. Weekly Theater Awards take place on Monday night. Doors open at 6:30 (not 7:30 as on some of the e-banners), show starts at 7:30 It's a middle-school district sponsored sleepover, so come in sleepwear of your choice, and bring sleeping blankets and pillows, if ya got em! Final nominee RSVPs being confirmed over the weekend. $20 tickets can be purchased at the door with cash.

TEMPEST: WITHOUT A BODY New Zealand's Ensemble MAU and director/choreographer Lemi Ponifasio present the U.S. premiere of a work that's "part dance, part theater, part ceremony -- a reflection on personal liberty and our current world revealed through a broken angel, its wings-crumpled and too small for flight, asi ti wanders a ruined landscape of shadow and light."
