CicLAvia, like most L.A. events, is a fab chance for people-watching, and though the expected bike jerseys, shorts, and plain T-shirts were in abundance, a few people are beginning to write the style guide for what will hopefully become not only a regular event, but a smashing spectacle. Here are eight different trends spotted on the streets at CicLAvia Sunday.
8. Low Rider Looks

Proof that this classic L.A. vehicle style will never go out of fashion -- it will just spread further, from cars to bicycles. With their noisy horns and flashing mirrors, when the low rider clubs were around, you knew it. Mad props for bringing it.
7. The So-What-If-I'm-On-A-Bike Look

Helmet, schmelmet. Lots of people were sporting looks that said, "I know how to balance on a bike without falling over. Now bow down and worship my awesome hair and/or hat!"

6. Helmet Yes, Spandex No

Even those people who haven't shaken off that pesky fear of head injuries and kow-towed to the helmet lobby stopped their obedience to the cyclist uniform from the neck down, preferring to leave the bike jerseys to Lance.
5. Bike Bling

Shiny spokes, multiple mirrors, and even the classic dangling tassels were gleaming in the sun.
