Top 10 Gay Bars in Los Angeles

Visiting LA and hit Mother Lode. Had a terrific time. Friendly, welcoming, no pretensions.

It's pretty surprising that Stripper Circus on Wednesday nights at Here Lounge didn't get a mention.  Having been to all of the aforementioned bars (and go-go danced at most of them), I have found Stipper Circus to be one of the most fun bar nights in LA.

Also, I think the new Rasputin deserves some props...alternative, sexy, hot, crowded, different, great music, cool fashions...there is something pretty cool happening there.

Um, hellllooo  L O N G   B E A C H ! Come on man, do the  LA County and include LB.Also, LA is at least 50% latino.... no mention of Any of these.  Guess you didn't even look. lame

Wow.. can't believe Revolver, Eleven, Cobra or either Hamburger Mary's location made the list.. seems like this writer requires the scent of urine in the venue's doorway to merit a nod here.

MJs is my place to get buzzed. The Middle Eastern boyz of Thursday's Club Nur can rock me anytime. Tue night is also a great to get some drinks.

Nothing out of Long Beach?  We do have a bit of a LGBT population down here and the Falcon or Fox can certainly hold their own against Gold Coast or Motherlode. 

This list sucks, I can't believe The Eagle in Silver Lake is not included. Akbar is the size of a closet and it's impossible to get a drink with all the hipsters and scene kids crowded in front of the bar. I think a hipster wrote this article. MJ's used to be a leather/bear bar but has turned into an annoying wannabe-trendy dump packed with annoying giggling queens. Rage is tired and their 12 dollar drinks are worthless. At least at the Abbey you get a good strong drink for your 15 bucks a pop.

who voted on these? What a list of "bought" bars! Your top 10 suck and by the way, needs to say L.A County not Los Angeles. Nice of whomever to do the research to see how far apart these bars are from each other compared to NYC or SF, thank you! Eagle is number 1 by the way and what about Bullet? Your list is biased.

Good to see The Oxwood is still alive. In the mid 80's I was living in Glendale and commuting by bus to work in Van Nuys. One afternoon I somehow found myself in The Oxwood. The lone male in a roomful of gurlz. I ordered a drink, the bartender reluctantly handed it over. Into my first sip, I was confronted. "Did I know where I was?" I looked slowly around, took another sip and mentioned I seemed to be having a drink with friends.Smiles broke out , rounds were bought, and from then on I was always welcome, and a drink was always on the bar before I sat down. 

No mention of $13 drink night at the Abbey? lolMJ's has the best bargain drinks and friendliest crowds lately. But no mention of the wonderful new bar/club in the Valley "RAIN". Great food and drink specials before 10!
