Fantasy Island in West L.A. The flashing but worn-down exterior looks like a haunted carnival, and the interior keeps up the façade with bright house lights, girls dressed in neon sporting menacing neck tattoos, and a lap-dance "room," which is really an open area that has all the privacy of a jailhouse shower. No hot blooded male genuine strip club aficionado would go near 8 of the 10 clubs listed here after a first taste. The list was compiled by women and it shows. These are the clubs where women and the hip scenesters feel comfortable. Real strip clubs in contemporary L.A.are about erection building (and sometimes relief). The era of strip clubs being about "fantasy" is long over in SoCal. Strip clubs are about action that consummates the visual tease. The clubs on this list are for pussies and limp dicks.
