I agree with just about every one of the views expressed through your editorial cartoons but you are completely wrong about Nader. He didn't cost Gore the election in 2000 and he didn't cost Kerry the election in 2004. Those guys along with the Democratic party gave away those elections by being spineless and weak. (i.e. Gore not even mentioning global warming in 2000 on the campaign trail and Kerry not responding to the Swift Boat veterans). Nader is one of the few independent voices in American politics not influenced by corporate interests and opinion polls.
Oh, no, Nader didn't fuck us...because we all know he took just as many votes from the republicans, right? If his ego had been just a little bit smaller, he could have pulled out in time to save us this 8-year trip into totalitarianism...but hey, he had to make his statement. So, no, he didn't fuck us. At least, not by himself.
But he sure fucked the Iraqis, because Al Gore, no matter what a dickhead he is, would not have had any reason to attack them.
Don't get me wrong; I wish we could have representative democracy again. The thing is, once the Fairness Doctrine was shitcanned, Fox News was able to pour its 'Fairly Unbalanced" Republican Party talking points down America's throat 24/7 without response, and that, my friends, was the beginning of the end here, I believe.
No matter that Ralph might be a better person, that he might have made a better president; he never had a chance, and he damn well knew it going in. So instead of settling for the lesser of the two evils...we got GW.
Right now, the lesser evil looks a hell of a lot better, doesn't it?

My apologies to Mr. Fish. I wrongly interpreted this cartoon as a jab at Nader...it's not. I just missed the irony.
