Cyd Charisse, Dead at 86

by Mark Mauer

Cyd Charisse has died in Los Angeles.

This scene of her as Fiona with Gene Kelly from Singin' In The Rain gets to me every time.

As does this one...

Her legs were famously insured for one million dollars, and her dancing on screen could put you in a trance.

She teamed up with Gene Kelly again in Brigadoon, with Fred Astaire in The Band Wagon and with Ricardo Montalban in On An Island With You. Cyd Charisse passed away Tuesday at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.

Lovely clips, but her name was Fiona in Brigadoon. In Singing in the Rain, she was 'nameless'.

My apologies! Thanks for the correction Eires
