• You can't blame NBC for doing their job - they are responsible for bringing in ratings and have the power to change and/or rearrange shows accordingly to get the highest viewership. I love Conan and Jay and believe that true fans will tune in no matter what time they put the shows at. Personally, I feel Conan reacted very childish to the whole debacle. It's business Conan and unfortunately you don't have the star power than Leno has. It's business, suck it up and be happy you were given the opportunity.

• Leno has been asking for his show back for some time. In November, Andy Richter blasted Leno for public comments that he'd take the show back if asked. Leno seemed oily when he got the Tonight Show over Letterman in 1992, I guess he hasn't changed in 18 years.

• @Simon It was Leno's idea for his new show at 10:00pm, so don't go trying to blame NBC on that one. Also, as already stated, when Jay took over from Carson, his ratings weren't great and it took a couple of years to get them to where they wanted them to be at. So, here we are now, Leno's idea of a show was horrible and flawed from the start, but NBC neglected public opinion of it from the start and also neglected the opinion of industry professionals. Conan, however, is funny but not the kind of host the 40+ crowd would really like. He is more about targeting the 20-38 crowd with more pop culture style jokes and wit. This whole issue is entirely on the shoulders of NBC green lighting The Jay Leno Show and you cannot blame anyone else, except maybe Leno for coming up with the idea...then being a damn indian giver.

• My wife and I were avid Jay Leno watchers when he did the Tonight Show. The timeslot was perfect. We've never seen his new earlier show because of the time. Watching Conan? Well, we gave it an honest try, but it was too painful watching him try to be funny. According to the ratings, we're not alone. NBC lost us as viewers when they moved Leno and they'll get us back when Leno returns. NBC made a stupid business mistake when they moved Leno earlier. Fixing their mistake just makes good business sense. You Conan fans can be disappointed, but you're not being rational if you think NBC should not try to correct their ratings drop.

• Shitty, shitty, shitty. Seems the biggest losers are the viewers. I will never watch The Tonight Show again when Jay returns - and I started watching Carson in the early 80s. What a legacy to have destroyed. Thanks Jay and retarded NBC execs. You blew it. Go away Jay, please. I realized just recently how little I actually watched The Tonight Show when Jay was hosting and how much more I've been watching it the last 7 months. • I find the whole thing kind of lame. I remember people not being so confident about one Mr Jay Leno when he took the show from Carson and the ratings dropped for a lengthy stretch! It's not as though nobody knew that Conans brand of humor was nothing like Jays! In fact how many times did Conan while in the later time slot make reference to that? Just seems the network's acting all woah is me about something everyone knew long before the trade off! For as much as I love Leno I further find it unfair to clip Conans wings because Jay's show flopped!
