Conan Fans Plan Rally, Might Be Too Late

Fans of late-night TV host Conan O'Brien announced an "I'm with Coco"-themed rally outside the taping of his show Monday in Universal City. The rally, however, might be too late, as The Wrap is reporting that NBC and O'Brien have come to a $30-million deal that would have him walk away from the Tonight Show.

It's not clear, however, when he would exit the show if the report is correct. NBC has scheduled Jay Leno to take over the 11:35 p.m. slot on its line-up in February, so that would leave a gap for the show should O'Brien take off this month.

Organizers say the rally was inspired by Los Angeles artist Mike Mitchell's "I'm with Coco" rendering of O'Brien, which spawned a 180,000-friend "I'm with Coco" Facebook group.

The rally is scheduled from noon to 4 p.m. outside gate two of Universal Studios. Organizers say some fans will dress as their favorite O'Brien-created characters while others have been encourage to wear orange wigs.

"As this is merely an insignificant pop culture event when compared to major world catastrophes as of late, the Red Cross will be on hand to collect donations for Haitian relief," state organizers.
