The doctor who was attending Michael Jackson the day he died is scheduled to surrender to Los Angeles authorities Friday, his attorney announced Thursday afternoon.

Conrad Murray was at Jackson's Holmby Hills home in the hours before the pop star went into cardiac arrest and subsequently died. Murray is reported to have admitted to injecting the King of Pop with the drug propofol, which experts say should only be administered in medical facilities. It's been widely reported that the District Attorney's office is expected to charge Murray with involuntary manslaughter in connection with the June death.

Attorney Ed Chernoff said Thursday that Murray ``has agreed to surrender himself tomorrow.'' Murray traveled to L.A. from his base in Houston over the weekend in anticipation of being charged and possibly arrested.

The doctor, however, has maintained his innocence.

In October the county coroner's office ruled Jackson's death a homicide and cited propofol as a factor.
