• Perhaps the republicans posting here might take a hint: a person who opposes essentially everything that the Democratic party stands for is not going to go far in a Democratic primary. He's despised by Democrats in no small part because he claims that he is one, yet his rhetoric and actions are indistinguishable from a very conservative Republican. Add in the trust-fund baby arrogance and smart-alec attitude and you get Kaus. Fortunately, no one except a small audience of Republicans reads him any more, and goats don't vote.

• It's interesting that Mickey hasn't knocked down the goat-blowing allegations yet. Not that I believe them. But the fact that he's been silent for so long on this issue is very curious.

• Kevin nailed it. There are many examples. Kaus made a career of sucking up to Repubs, and sucking off (allegedly, remember) goats. The "allegedly" is very important to Mickey, because he uses it so often when he makes up crap.

• The "Mickey Kaus, noted practitioner of unsavory sexual acts" idea was not related to the specific content of anything he said, but to the way that he presented serious, damaging statements with literally no more evidence than "someone who I can't name or identify in any way has made allegations that I can't verify and couldn't verify even if I bothered to try, but hoo boy are they serious and damaging". The fact that the allegations *in one case* turned out to be true doesn't mean Kaus is suddenly a responsible journalist. Plus, I have it on good sources that he's been banned from many farms.

Years ago I used to watch him debate Robert "meathead" Wright on bloggingheads.tv...Wright was always whining because Kaus refused to parrot the standard progressive line.
