The Cove that slaughters a total of 50,000 dolphins over the past years are only 14 individuals. This represent only a few hundred people world wide that are depeleting the entire supply. 5. Whale meat and Dolphin meat are dangerous to humans. It has high Mercury content due to the Dolphin's food source comes from fish who eat industrial pollutants. This is resulting in birth defects, premature and under weigh babies, voice memory loss and a weakened immune system. 6. Whale and Dolphins have a cultural of education and techniques that is passed down to the youth and have a complex vocabulary. A dolphin can recognize itself on T.V. from other dolphins. Animal rights have been effective in the European Union - in 2009 EU banned the import of any dog fur from China and Russia. Seal fur will be banned from Canada in 2012 to wind down the industry. 10. 95% of the bluefin tuna that is being depleted is from Japan.

• Hey Mike, I totally agree with you. I love and respect life itself but I'm also not a vegan. Sorry to say I eat lot of meats, fishes and other animals. I grow up in this world with a habit of doing so. I think if I could rewrite the history of man as god I would tell everyone not to eat meat at all. But pointing fingers and bash on people faces and culture plus making a big deal about it is not going to help here. This whole documentary and so called investigation is what people in Hollywood intend to do. I think they're trying to focus on particular group of people here. What make you think if the people in India saying eating cow is wrong, will you stop. Just because we can reproduces these animals and they're not in danger is that makes it ok to eat them? Or because these countries are not as powerful as United States so they have no right to call people out. I have a many Japanese friends, they told me some fisherman in Japan are still depend on it for many many generations. They said one whale can feed hundred of people where area still poor. For me I'll give great respect to that whale that give it life to us. All I'm saying is can we use a different approach to this then making the Japanese looked like an evil whale eater.

If you decide to educate yourself further on the subject you'd find just how disastrous the slaughter of whales and sharks will be for the entire world. There is no time to debate or negotiate. • Great news that this restaurant will be charged over this. Sei whales are endangered and this illegal whale meat should never have made the journey from Japan to the USA as it is subject to CITES regmations. The big question now is: how many other sushi restaurants are breaking CITES and national laws by serving whale or dolphin flesh as part of their sushi menu? Nice work Sea Shepherd and the team from the Oscar winning film 'The Cove' who assisted with this investigation.
