The 27-year-old victim, according to news reports, was beaten and then had the word "It" carved into his chest. Long Beach police are still looking for the assailant, who's believed to be a male in his twenties.

The 7 p.m. rally will start at Maxson Plaza on the Cal State Long Beach campus and continue with a candlelight march.

The event has the larger purpose to stop the sexual harassment and abuse of women.
