L.A. County Also Considering Arizona Boycott

It looks like the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors will consider its own boycott of Arizona, following in the footsteps of Los Angeles and other cities upset over the state's controversial immigration law.

The powerful, five-person body already appears to have two votes in hand: Supervisors Zev Yaroslavsky and Gloria Molina, who introduced the measure Wednesday, and fellow Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky, who is supporting it. The proposal will likely see at least some form of consideration Tuesday. One politico who probably won't vote aye: illegal-immigration opponent Mike Antonovich.

Still, even in this criminally small body -- supervisors rep more people than local congressional members -- it probably won't be hard to muster one more vote (we're looking at you Mark Ridley-Thomas).

The motion would ask Arizona leaders to repeal the law, ban county travel to the state (unless it's "imperative"), prohibit new deals and investments when it comes to Arizona businesses, and review contracts related to Arizona-based companies to determine if they can be legally terminated.
