Beverly Hills Lawyer Allegedly Caught With 'Significant Amount' Of Drugs At Courthouse

cocaine bricks.png
A Beverly Hills attorney was arrested after he allegedly tried to smuggle "a significant amount" of narcotics into an inmate holding area at the Criminal Courts Building downtown Tuesday, Los Angeles County Sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore said. Sheriff's officials alleged that a drug-sniffing dog alerted about 9:30 a.m. when Michael Inman entered an area where lawyers can meet with clients who are being held or jailed.

Sheriff's officials would not reveal what kind of drug was involved or who the client was. Authorities have claimed in the past that drugs, mobile phones and other contraband are sometimes slipped to inmates through their attorneys. If this guy's prosecuted -- and we'll honor the idea that he's innocent until proven otherwise -- it would prove their point.

Inman, by the way, is on record as having been disciplined by the California Bar Association, and he's under investigation for alleged misdeeds that could, if proven, prompt the bar to strip his ability to practice.
