• I was present at EDC this past month (though I was only there for the friday show). I am an EMT and must say that there was MORE THAN ENOUGH Law Enforcement, EMT/Paramedic, as well as Event Staff/Security. After Crunching the numbers and doing the statistics , the amount of incidents to attendee's was minuscule. I do understand the MD's point of view of considering this type of event a MCI (multi casualtiy incident), but EMS and LEO were well prepared. I do think there is some responsibility that needs to be put on Insomniac Events for not being as tight as they could have with the security screening, as well as checking ID's of minors (hence the 15 y/o death). If the event became a 18... or event 21+ event, the risk of underaged death would be minimized and EDC wouldn't be facing this ban. From my point of view (and in being an EMT), a minor is anyone under the age of 18. Let's get the kids out of the "adult" event and go back to it being just "plain old fun". On a Side Note: EDC '10 rocked. I hope that they find an alternative venue for an EDC '11 in California.

• I love how everyone is acting like this has never happened before. Every time I've been to EDC I've either seen gate rushing, or accidentally been in the middle of it. You just have to be smart and stay away from that. They really need to work out a better security system, because obviously what they're doing isn't working. • its truly unfortunate. I had the best time of my life for those 2 days. I knew what to expect, I knew the venue would fill fast and that they would close the main floor. we planned accordingly and got there early. we got our space on the main floor right side with breathing room and stayed there for the whole night. no violence or stupid behavior ever touched us. I wholeheartedly enjoyed my time with all of my friends and none of us had any issues. we came for the music and fellowship and that's exactly what we got. people weren't getting hurt so much from the fence hopping, they were getting crushed at the stand entrances from people rushing down. out of 185,000 people less than 500 had issues, for most of that 500 its their own fault. raving and rave culture has blown up exponentially. once anything goes mainstream (Will.i.am djing? really?) it loses its core value. in this case you had a ton of kids not understanding what P.L.U.R is all about, or realizing that there is an extra R (responsibility), because it was their first time. when you have Deadmau5 on Gossip Girl you are asking for trouble. when you value ticket prices over comfort and safety you have 15 year olds coming in without their parents taking drugs and getting trampled. I feel truly fortunate that I was in the group(s) I was in for those 2 days. all the people we met up with, danced with, and shared moments with were there for the music and good vibes. most importantly we were all responsible for ourselves and each other. that isn't something you can teach or instruct, its learned from experience. fault lies with the individuals who got themselves hurt, with the venue organizers for not adequately planning security, and with Insomniac for not regulating their own 16+ policy.

• I have been attending events like this for years now...including EDC for the past several years. I have never gotten hurt or died because I choose to not be a moron and O.D. or hop fences. The girl that died I don't feel sorry for her. I feel bad for her parents. Sasha died because of her own actions. No one "slipped" drugs into her water bottle. Who the heck would give drugs for FREE to a rather unattractive 15 year old girl? She obviously took too many pills and her body couldn't take it.

• Honestly, EDC should NOT be banned for this. Like stated above, the pros very greatly outweighed the cons, and anybody that got hurt knows that it was their own fault. While I do feel terrible about the young girl who died, she's the one who decided to take the drugs. I was at EDC and I was high as a kite, but I did so "responsibly" as did everyone around me. Insomniac can't be blamed for anything but making a ton of people happy. I'd also like to agree with the person above who said that EDC had a positive affect on the way they see the world; I've got that same feeling. It's about peace, love, respect, and unity, haven't you heard? :) They can try shutting us down, but I'm going to suggest that they don't waste their time.

• Most of the people you see getting physically hurt were the ones trying to rush the field. I am sure some innocent people got hurt but if they were jumping the fence or attempting to get in through exits, they deserved to get hurt. In my opinion, the gates and fences are what lead to the problems. What happened to the fun in partying that was found in the early days? The days when massives were not 100,000 people attending; the days when massives cost 30 dollars to choose between 40 of the dopest dj's on earth instead of the 100 dollars it costs now; and the days when everyone was friends with everyone else, even if they had just met. The true hurt is on the people who have been doing this for many years that cant enjoy it because of what it has turned into.

• Where was this girl's parents? Did they know where she was? I was at this event and thought Insomniac did an amazing job of producing the event. What I saw was super under control. So there was a group of kids who stormed a fence and took drugs ... stupid kids! I feel bad for Insomniac in all this. Not their fault. If you are going to ban electronic music events ... you should ban Lakers games too ... those burnt cars were fucked up too! Gonna blame the Lakers on their stupid fans as well?

• Shame they tried to segregate people with those fences. I was at the 1st EDC held at that local and they didn't have them. You were able to roam freely for the most part, were just as many people and didn't have that problem. Did the promoters charge diff prices for access to dif areas? Greedy bastards.

• FUCK you stupid little kids going! take me back to 2006 when you went because you liked Techno and electronic music. not to dress like a hoe and get fucked up. Fuck you kids!n and wtf type of shit would give a 15 year old E!

• In high school we would jump the fence to get into back yard parties that charged. At the Palladium,the Olympic and various other venues we would bumrush the doors or even knock...bouncer opens...rip door from his hands and your in.We've jumped the fence at Irvine, knocked security to ground at Universal, impersonated roadies, chair hopped, level jumped, dropped from balconies, even tried the roof once. Its good to see hope is alive and well. rave on my son, rave on! JESUS RAVES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

• hmmm lets see, The olympics? Rock Concerts, FIFA, Politics, And religion... Through several years we all have seen much worse. The stupidest thing i have herd is the one with the water bottle being laced with X. The type of violence happens all over the world. The main point of the highlights is to keep your focus off what the govt. or BP is doing to our country today. "which in case is much worse than all of this" choose your battles...

• instead of building all the fencing, there should have been a single fixed-priced ticket allowing for general admission, anything else actually encourages gate crashing. i attempted to go to the first night of this event, only to find that general admission tickets were 95.00. if i had paid that much and i was a football field away from the party i would have jumped over a fence too. the security officers aren't making that much money and they aren't police, so why would the venue and the promoter design a system that seemed to put them at an EXTREME disadvantage? what if there was a REAL problem, like a fire or earthquake? were these three security guards supposed to handle that themselves? i don't blame the promoter for the death of the 15 year old who accidentally overdosed, but i can see the responsibility of blame being divided between the venue and the promoter when it came to being greedy with the seating/VIP packages to maximize profit margins and rather cheap when it came to payroll for staffing. of course the city got paid extremely well for putting up such a large presence of LAPD on the outside of the venue, never a cheap expenditure, but they are not in charge of keeping people safe inside the show. it looks like a LOT of people got hurt just trying to get out of that pile, including a security guard. all in all, you tried to squeeze dollars from KIDS and you got burned. they don't have a ton of disposable income and the event was extremely expensive. parking across the street was 60.00. general admission tickets were 95.00. i'm sure bottled water was 7.00, add it all up and you invited the wrong elements to your party. take a tip from the Detroit Movement Festival next time, i don't think they've lost anyone yet.

• I dont understand why little kids had to go kill the scene i've raved for three years and never have seen such dumbass people ruining it for everyone else they make it not even worth it anymore! they took the real meaning out of raves and made us look horrible to the city that already didnt like us anyway way to go fuckers!!!

• when you get 185,000 people in one area bad things ARE going to happen, but when you look at the ratio of kids who were injured to kids who were perfectly fine, it really isn't that bad. So total there was 405 issues that needed to be dealt with at the carnival. That number is including deaths, emergencies, and arrests. That means that 184,595 people were perfectly fine and safe at the colliseum. People always seem to focus on the negative aspects. It's the ignorant children that are causing the problems. I say that even if they just made it 18 and up there would be even less situations to deal with. I applaud insomniac however, for putting on the most amazing show I've EVER seen, and doing their best to make sure I was safe. EDC changed my outlook on life for the better. I had never felt so much love from strangers in my entire life. There was much more good at EDC then there was bad, but in the society we live in, I don't think some people will ever see that. They're to brain washed to ever even consider peace love unity and respect. I pitty this nation, I really do.

• I was at the kinetic field when all this mess happened. Will-i-am was playing until he was interrupted including Laid Back Luke. I was at the front with my legal guardian until we heard all this nasty screaming. Honestly people are fucking up the rave scene even more becaue they are acting like a bunch of pussies! People gotta stop all this nonsense! Were getting alot of pussies at the rave scene by doing all this and making controversies for Insomniac events which i dont think its right because they dont deserve the blame as for the irresponsible teen girl who died. im a true raver at heart. I love edc.... its so beautiful! But if people do this, they are forgetting what raves are all about!
