Some Targeted L.A. Dispensaries Stay Open, Defy City

Two weeks after the city's new law outlawing most dispensaries in Los Angeles took effect, the Weekly has found that many have chose to defiantly stay open, with some citing what operators believe are loopholes in the L.A. ordinance: Many seem to have closed their doors but kept their businesses alive via delivery, others are serving "members" only, and some believe the city is either mistaken or legally erroneous. From the Weekly's article:

A self-described "ex-bud tender" from the 99 High Art Collective dispensary in Venice said the outlet is still "operating" but on a "delivery-only status."

"We are licensed caretakers, and we're only prohibited to sell here at this destination," the woman, who did not want to be identified, reasoned.
