• Hey I bet your reffering to all these mexicans?  LoL I was born and raised here and I feel like a foreigner. Theres a plan threw Villaragosa to import thousands over here threw identity fraud to get the Mexican population well Over Four million in the city, It's already at two million excluding the illegals. We have gotten them only by a little over 70 thousand. California will indeed one day Be A Latin country. They have been planning this for years before our time and its slowly working. I will give it 50 years from now, They are planning to and i beleve will do us exactly The way we did the Native Americans.

• David i understand your point, But The "Los Angeles-Long Beach-Santa Ana" area isnt 70 miles long. If they included the area FOR NYC area with the same exact sq miles of the L.A area there would be more than 23 million, thus making L.A number one. New York may be highly populated in some spots, but the freeways and traffic is much better in the NYC area, L.A including the surrounding areas deal with tragic traffic jams each day due to severe suburban sprawl some of wich they don't include in the census figures like the Inland Empire which is only 35 miles east of downtown L.A

• this may be an understatement but BIGGER isn't always better my friend. I would LOVE it if LA cleaned out half its population. it would be a MUCH greater place to live, work and play!

• You have a valid point, however, the parts of PA you're referencing are about 70 miles or so from Manhattan; Palm Springs is more than 100. That's not the real issue, though; both NYC and LA core metros are surrounded by other sizeable metros. Add all those up on both sides and NYC comes out way ahead, going up to around 30 mil if you include Philadelphia -- incidentally, another part of Pennsylvania that is closer (by a hair) to New York City than say, Palm Springs is to downtown Los Angeles.
