Matthew Butcher, L.A. Homicide No. 138: 27-Year-Old Matthew Butcher Fatally Shot At L.A. Pot Shop

Police identified 27-year-old Matthew Benjamin Butcher as the victim killed in Thursday's robbery of an Angeleno Heights pot shop.
He was the son of a local labor leader, according to Eastsider LA. Julie Butcher is regional director of Service Employees International Union Local 721, which represents city employees. (View map after the jump)
Butcher was fatally shot inside the Higher Path Holistic dispensary on June 24 around 4:10 p.m. in the 1300 block of Sunset Blvd. A co-worker at the Higher Path Holistic shop was also shot and was in critical condition at a nearby hospital.
