Street Closures Around Staples Center Planned For Tonight
Be prepared for street closures around Staples Center during and after the Lakers game Thursday night, Los Angeles Police Department Central Traffic Division officials told LA Weekly. The usual suspects -- Chick Hearn Court, Figueroa Street, Pico Boulevard and Cherry Street -- will eventually be shut down. Examiner.com actually has a specific timetable (that no one at the L.A. Department of Transportation or the LAPD seemed to be able to verify):
1st Quarter Closure Area (approximately 6:30 p.m.) Chick Hearn Court - from Albany Street to Figueroa StreetHalftime Closure Area (approximately 7:00 p.m.)
All of Cherry Street
Figueroa Street - from Olympic Blvd. to Pico Blvd.
12th St. - From Figueroa St. to Flower Street
12th St. - From Cherry St. to Albany Street4th Quarter Closure Area (approximately 8:00 p.m.)
Pico Blvd. - From Albany St. to Flower Street
Figueroa St. - From Olympic Blvd to Washington Blvd.
Flower St. - From Olympic Blvd to Venice Blvd.
