Echo Park opponents of a proposed 64-unit residential/commercial development scored a minor victory last night as the developer announced he was changing his designs based on input from residents, Jose Sigala Vice Chair of the Echo Park Neighborhood Council announced at Wednesday's council meeting.

At a meeting two weeks ago, locals criticized the proposed development over fears of increased traffic and a modern architectural style that would clash in a neighborhood filled with 100-year-old craftsman style homes.

Vanos said he already made numerous changes to the project based on community input since he began trying to persuade residents of the value of the plan three years ago.

Vanos will show his revisions at an Echo Park neighborhood meeting August 11.
