Sergio Gamboa-Padilla, L.A. Homicide No. 161: Man Shot to Death in Harbor City

A 24-year-old man who was shot to death as he was getting into his car in Harbor City July 23 has been identified as Sergio Gamboa-Padilla. The shooting occurred around 7:15 p.m. Friday on Senator Avenue near West 256th Street. According to police reports, Gamboa-Padilla was entering his car when two gunmen approached him and shot him several times. The shooters fled in a nearby vehicle. A motive for the killing is unclear.
