Steven Kelly, L.A. Homicide No. 150: 42-year-old Man Fatally Shot in Westmont

Steven Kelly, 42, was shot to death in the Westmont area. The shooting occurred in the 1700 block of East 109th Place around 9:00 p.m. on July 10, according to officer Sara Faden of LAPD Media Relations. (See map after the jump)

Two suspects in a dark-colored compact car pulled up next to Kelly as he was walking toward his house 2 blocks away. Both suspects got out of their vehicle and one allegedly shot Kelly in the upper torso, said Detective Sal Labarbera of LAPD's 77th Division. Kelly was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are searching for the suspects involved and believe it may have been gang-related. Anyone with any information about the shooting should contact Det. Labarbera at (213) 485-4341.
