Antonio Villaraigosa: Add Bicycle Activist To Mayor's Resume

• If you look deep enough you will see music; the heart of nature being everywhere music.

• I, too, would like to hear the cabbie's side of the story. Having observed the cabs in LA from the street and from inside of a cab, I've concluded that they are second only to the bus drivers for borderline-reckless and aggressive driving. Though I speak as a motorist, it would be refreshing to see more bikes on the road. In addition, I would especially like to see a PSA in the form of a handbook/pamphlet to inform and educate bicyclists on the "rules of the road" that includes emphasis on "sharing" and "not listening to your iPod while biking". I choose to drive safely for myself, passengers and community but refuse to do double duty to compensate for wreckless bikers acting as if invincibility is fueled by the pedals they push.

• Funny how Robert, the (one can only assume) angry "cager", immediately jumps to the conclusion that the munchkin mayor "went crusty" and ran a red or somehow broke one of the cardinal rules that motorists regularly ignore anyway with mass and momentum and air conditioned shade on their side. What a load of crap. Robert serves as an example of most of what is wrong with this autopian nightmare of a city realized in cheap stucco & asphalt; Her inhabitants who are slaves to the motorized commuter life here forget that they are in a public space while they roll down the road wielding tons of metal spewing smoke and rubber tailings while drinking their stimulant sugar treats & telephoning/texting/eating/watching tv/applying makeup. Chances are the cabbie was a better driver than Robert with more to lose on any given day. Anyone can make a mistake and the fact of the matter is it could have been Robert's or any "Angeleno's" CHILD (the mayor being unarguably of that stature) and it could have been a LOT WORSE. I would be the first to suspect foul play from any stinking half-pint or even disgustingly tall politician from either side of the river but implying that the flowery surnamed fool "done broke his arm" for votes is frankly half-witted. Check your mirrors Robert and next time use your indicators and quit blaming the people (like bike clubs) that are actually enjoying their commute. You and I both would do well to join them.

• Is the Failure of a Mayor going to blow through stop lights, cut off pedestrians and ignore traffic laws just like many of the Critical Mass bikers do? They apparently caught the taxi cab driver who cut him off. It would be interesting to get HIS story. the Mayor has been in LA his entire life and now all of a sudden he thinks biking is great idea. He's not fooling us. He's up to no good and there is definitely something in it for him but what????
