A bevy of topless woman plan on marching the streets of Venice Sunday to demand that all women have the right to bare their chests.

The nationwide event is being organized by GoTopless, a group trying to help women "perceive their breasts as noble, natural parts of their anatomy."

The group cites the U.S. Constitution's 14th amendment, which guarantees U.S. citizens equal protection under the law, as granting the right to go topless. They argue that since men can go topless, women should be able to, as well.

GoTopless, according to the Website, was founded by the Raelian Movement. They believe extraterrestrial scientists created life on Earth.

"They created us scientifically in their image through genetic engineering," said Nadine Gary, Raelian Priestess and President of Gotopless.org. "So how can a body, a masterpiece, be perceived with shame?"

Easily. But that's for a longer discussion to be had at some other time.

The march is scheduled to take place on August 22 in Venice at the Ocean Front Walk at Navy Street at 2:30 p.m.

Other protests are being planned in Chicago, San Francisco, Seattle, Denver, Miami and Honolulu, New York and Texas.

GoTopless encourages women to bring extra sunblock to protect their exposed breasts.
