• As high as some of these salaries seem, they aren't that outrageous as those of CEOs for BoA, Citi, GE, etc.  Many of the people on the list are docs.  It is not uncommon for docs to make $250,000+...

• Please don't forget the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (DWP). This organization runs like a mobster organization. The corruption there has a wider scale because the pricings of water and power include cost and expenses resulting from corrupt practices in their vendors contract bidding. If you think of Enron in private industries, think and imagine about DWP in public entities, the giant monopoly that keeps raising its water and power rates. Ask why, when this monopoly does not pay federal, state, property, sales, licenses, DMV fees, etc. as they are financed by taxpayers. DWP's prices should be so many times lower than Southern California Edison or Pacific Gas and other utilities company, which pay city, state, and federal taxes. If you solve corruption in DWP, you lower water and power prices and the ripple effects go to lower cost of production overheads and servicing for manufacturers, business, etc. which benefits the general consumers like you, me and everyone statewide. If you need the hard proofs, I got it in thousand of pages. Rookies auditor are a plus so that they don't understand what their audit director is upto--- manipulating and covering up audit findings to benefit top managment in exchange for careeer rewards, power and authorities

• Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (DWP) has another Rizzo half-brother. Abe Shafran, a senior auditor, reports to work one day every two weeks only. His salary is about $135,000 a year, before medical, dental, vacation and pension benefits. He's been doing it for over10 years. That's what taxpayers have been subsidizing for. His boss, audit director, needs him to cover-up audit projects and audit findings. He is assigned sensitive and possibly controversial audit projects, like the DWP retirement department where billions are invested in stocks, bonds, and mortgages, but the audit emphasis is misdirected to payment procedures, which expectedly will yield no findings at all. His findings are 100% so trivial and useless, but paper mills of junks. The point here is they did the audit and so they did their job, regardless of rotten audit results - - that's the game they play - - -semblance of compliance with law all should be theatrical comedies for the Best Oscars award. This guy is the epitome of a ghost employee --fully retired but practically and fraudulently working to make bigger buck and pension. Corruption has a trickle effect syndrome, from top to bottom and bottom to top, a two way traffic.

• One moral lesson: Before these SOB raise taxes, they should cleanse themselves up first -- sanitized their back door corruptions. Political leaders should disclose on their budget deficits the fraud, wastage, and losses, hidden in their various expense accounts. These type of fraud,corrupt, loss, and wastage, should not be billed against the public in the form of taxes. Our taxes, minus those corruption expense, could have been cut by 50% I wonder why the sales taxes are not enough to take care of public entities. These type of taxes, around 10% now, comes up non-stop as part of our daily expenses wherever and whatever you do. If I have a private company that lives on 10% sales tax, you won't hear about deficit, but overflowing surplus. Believe me. Maybe the public should engage a group of Certified Fraud Examiners to audit public entities to open up the worms and reduce public taxes.

• Have you heard about an OPEC (Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries) type cartel bidding? The answer is exclusively in the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (DWP). It's a bid specially designed for an elite chosen 6 bidders only. You would see two bidders within the cartel getting awarded and the basis is a piece of two pages of papers given by one bidder to another bidder, who marked-up the price, get awarded, and passed the contract work quietly to the source co-bidder. So, two bidders won, right? Audit Director? Oh, he just supprressed the audit report and its $850,000 finding after hybernating the report for 18 months. Cool job, right? What he gets? Naturally, more power and untouchable authority. The beneficiaries? Oh, just look at the mansion estately houses and you will easily understand. Only in DWP, you see it. Bell City? Only a dot in the radar. City Attorney? The mighty cover-up using their legal jargon and semantics. Common knowledge: Facts once documented cannot be buried by legal magicians. You cannot change historical facts anyway. Instead of investigating, they spend taxpayer's resources to cover-up too. Anyone interested can demand reproduction by California Public Records Act and specify that the report should be available even though not published, or ask via this LA Times' comments section

• If you cannot pocket yourself via Bell type salary, pension, benefits population. Do it via the vendors' contracts. Have it sheltered or covered up by it's audit director. What you get is a perfect concealment of fraud, loss and wastage. For those who seek far and beyond, you could visit the museum of exhibits that will be put up soon. That's the way, Los Angeles Department of Water and Power does.

Audit Director Tan protects him as he could provide information that threatens the shadow organization within DWP Add all the hours he cheated, multiply his rate of around $65.00 per hour (before pension,vacaction,sick, health benefits, the losses due to idleness should be more than $47,000 a year. Taxpayers, your taxes pays for him to sleep and be lazy. Yet you public employees still want to defend government worker? You're talking about an auditor, the watchdog. Who else is honest there? Only in DWP, this is business as usual, as long as you're part of scoundrels. "Pat my back & I pat your back"

• I work with some of these doctors, and they truly deserve their pay. They could be working in private practice, making 1.5 to 3 times their current salary. Rather, they work long, arduous hours taking care of the indigent, and uninsured. They have spent well over 11 years-15 years in higher education and training to be able to serve in this profession.

• These people are crooks. White people can steal all day long and never be accused. As long as Blacks kill Blacks and steal from Blacks they will never do a day. But let an Asian person accuse a Black person of a crime? CERTAIN PROSECUTION, especially if they find an Asian ADA who has a personal relationship with the daughter of the person accusing the Black people. In one specific case, even though three independent civil boards concluded that the Black people followed the guidelines of their profession and even though the Asian woman herself admitted multiple times in writing that the Black people did the work, the Asian overpaid ADA has decided to charge the highly educated, innocent Black people as criminals in an attempt to extort money out of them. The LA Judicial System is corrupt. More than the Bell officials need to go to jail. Look out for the Press Conference because there is about to be more unrest in Los Angeles due to racial prosecutorial misconduct.

• It can't be stopped since the ones who benefit from all of this thievery are the ones who make the rules. I wasn't asked if I wanted to pay these people twice what the private sector pays + a 25 year guaranteed pension worth MILLIONS to boot. Can we have a vote on this?

• These are all prime examples of government officials looking to fill their own pockets than serving the community who had them elected. It's is up to the voters to demad accountability and the prosecution of these thieves (gov offficials local and federal) who continually steal Yes Steal!!! From all of us trying to make an honest living.

• The working class was set up to pay taxes used pay people that snuck into their country who would do their jobs for less than half to breed like cockroaches. President Regan changed our constitution allowing the decendants of the people our ancestors fled from to buy up half of America with money they made from factories out taxes bebuilt after WW2 or from our own factories that were shipped over to their countries.
