The man arrested in connection with a shocking triple murder in West Hollywood was charged Wednesday with three counts of capital murder, a move that could have "death penalty" written all over it if the suspect is convicted.

Thirty-one-year-old Harold Yong Park, who also faced special circumstance allegations of robbery and burglary and who was also charged with robbery, burglary and transporting marijuana for sale, was scheduled to enter a plea Tuesday afternoon in Beverly Hills Superior Court.

Park was arrested Monday morning in the Lomita area after a sheriff's patrol car equipped with a license-plate scanning device alerted to the man's vehicle. Authorities alleged there were multiple pounds of pot in the car.

Early speculation was that the Thursday night homicide on North Kings Road near Melrose Avenue was motivated by marijuana. The Park La Brea News reported that detectives believe the victims were involved in selling pot and that four to five pounds was missing from the scene of the crime. A detective said the trio knew the suspect.

"We had several different sources tell us that the victims in the case would purchase the marijuana from medical marijuana dispensaries and then resell it to other dispensaries or private entities," sheriff's Det. Pat Nelson told the paper. "Apparently these deals were in the tens of thousands of dollars."

The victims, felled by gunfire, were Bernard Khalili, 27, and brothers Pirooz Moussazadeh, 27, and Shahriar Moussazadeh, 38.
