Another survey yet again confirms that Los Angeles may be one of the worst places to live in the nation. L.A. is ranked the 2nd most stressful city among the 50 largest metropolitan areas, according to Portfolio.com.

These results follow last month's findings by Forbes, which also gave L.A. the silver medal for stress.

The study used the following 10 indicators to determine the rankings: unemployment, income growth, poverty, deaths from circulatory-system diseases, sunshine, unhealthful air, robberies, murders, commuting and housing costs.

Factors that contributed to Angelenos' high stress levels include an unemployment rate of 11.6 percent, poor air quality and one of the most expensive housing markets in the country. At least we're not Detroit, which got the top spot with an unemployment rate of 14.3 percent. They're also a city with one of the highest murder rates and the fewest sunny days.

Here's the top 10:

1. Detroit
2. Los Angeles
3. Cleveland
4. Riverside
5. St. Louis
6. New York City
7. New Orleans
8. Chicago
9. Birmingham
10. Miami-Fort Lauderdale

How can New York, the bedbug capital of the nation, be less stressful than Los Angeles?

Portfolio.com found that Minneapolis, St. Paul, Virginia Beach, Norfolk and Salt Lake City were among the least stressful cities in the nation. We should also note they could all qualify for most boring.
