Steven Lopez, 22, was fatally shot at a birthday party in the Boyle Heights area September 25, according to a statement by the LAPD.
The shooting occurred in the 1300 block of Palos Drive around 2:10 a.m. A dispute between party goers escalated to the point where eight people, including Lopez, were shot and three others were stabbed around 2:10 a.m.
Martinez was pronounced dead at the scene and two other victims suffering from gunshot wounds were taken to a local hospital. Officers at the scene were told that other victims went to the hospital on their own volition.
