I fail to see how paying someone (illegal) $23.00 dollars an hour is exploiting someone!! My mother was a housekeeper, my mother was white worked at doctors homes in the 60's. There are many websites out there that will tell you the whole employment, credit and criminal history of anybody for a fee of $25 to $50. Not only that you can even find the genealogy of anybody out there for a nominal fee. Most businesses use a combination of background checks before they hire an employee. Why hasn't Whitman used any of those systems to do a background check before hiring an employee, especially the one whom she expects to make her breakfast, coffee, her bed, do her laundry etc. Claiming that she was unaware that a criminal (illegal entry into the US is a crime in any court of law) was living in her house and doing her household work for 9 years is absurd. If she can't even find the background of a person living in her house for 9 years how is she going to find out what is wrong with the problems in our government.

If Whitman is being sincere and wants to clear her name, then release how much you paid this woman. That will tell us all we need to know. If she was paying her under the table or some sub-standard wage, that'll show me that old Meg knew the woman was illegal. If she paid her the going rate, then perhaps Meg was duped. The latter is highly unlikely. Everybody in L.A. knows that in all of the affluent communities, hiring illegals is rampant. Those guys standing in front of Home Depot aren't usually hired by blue collar/mid-incone folks, but instead, by people who have money.

Meg Whitman claims that she depended on an employment agency to screen the employee before she hired her. If that is the case why didn't Whitman sue the employment agency soon after firing the illegal alien. I am sure Meg knows how to file lawsuits. If she wants to put the blame on somebody else in this case, she should have taken the right step of going through the court system against the employment agency.

I won't be surprised if we hear that Whitman had asked Diaz to sign some papers as part of the employment contract to the effect that Diaz is barred from talking to anybody about the type of employment she had at the house of the Whitmans and any other details about what went on for 9 years. There were rumors that Oprah asks all her employees to sign such confidentiality agreements. Like Oprah, Whitman is just another billionaire.
