Cyclists took advantage of the wide-open streets at L.A.'s first CicLAvia ride.
We had CicLAvia, Sunday's street-closing bike event, pegged as a possible, traffic-choking nightmare. But reviews of Los Angeles' first city sponsored mega-ride along 7.5 miles of wide open streets, mostly through East Hollywood, Westlake, downtown and a little of the Eastside, paint it as a success.

The Los Angeles Times even stated that 100,000 people participated, although photos don't make it out to be half that crowded.

L.A.'s CicLAvia could eventuall go weekly.
... Adonia Lugo and Bobby Gadda, who witnessed the original Ciclovia ride in Bogota, Columbia and brought the idea back to L.A.

Organizers now want to do five similar events next year and eventually make CicLAvia a weekly ride. Are you up for it?
