This isn't Joe Kurihara, who also allegedly had a few too many.

You'd have to be pretty drunk to misplace both your SUV and your own, three-year-old son.

But authorities in Pasadena are investigating if that was the case over the weekend when 23-year-old Joe Kurihara was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication but the vehicle he was supposed to have been driving -- and the son he was supposed to have been taking care of -- were not with him.

Just before midnight Sunday Pasadena police reported the boy was found safe and sound.

The child, Dylan Kurihara, was found at Madison Avenue and Green Street in Pasadena. That's about a half mile from a wedding held Saturday night at a Masonic Temple on Euclid Avenue -- where he was reportedly last seen with his father.

The mother reported the father and boy missing Sunday morning, and police told her that Kurihara was walking solo Saturday night near 300 E. Cordova St., authorities said. Cops arrested him for being drunk in public.

The SUV he was supposed to have been driving Saturday night? Found later nearby, with no one in it, according to Fox 11 News.

A massive search for the boy ensured on Sunday.

A tale for the bar stool, or one for the judge? Only time will tell.

Update: The boy was found sleeping in his car seat, in the 2001 Lexus SUV spotted in a nearby parking garage.

Papa Kurihara was booked on suspicion of felony child endangerment, said Lt. Diego Torres of Pasadena police.

Update #2: Kurihara was charged Tuesday with felony child endangerment. He pleaded not guilty.

City News Service reported that the boy's mother was being looked at by the county Department of Children and Family Services and that the boy and his one-year-old sister were taken into the county's care following the weekend incident.
