America just couldn't wait to see Steve-O's balls in the third dimension. "Jackass 3D," third filmic spinoff of MTV's infamous gross-out series, opened this weekend to disgusting amounts of success.

Moviegoers dropped an estimated $50 million on the film between Friday and Sunday, more than doubling the income of runner-up "Red" and making it the highest-grossing October release of all time.

On top of that, the "Jackass" crew's latest stint was met by relatively glowing reviews, combining for an average of 70 percent on Rotten Tomatoes. (At this point, the only thing more surprising is that the record-holder for six years prior was "Scary Movie 3.")

Above all, "Jackass 3D" is a beacon of hope for the future of 3-D media, whose foray into television hasn't exactly seen "Avatar"-level love from the consuming masses.

As Don Harris, executive vice president for distribution for Paramount, told the Los Angeles Times:

"When some guy gets hit in the crotch with a baseball in 2-D, it's one thing, but when he's kind of up in your face and it happens, it's another experience."

Do tell: Who actually went to see this crock of -- ahem -- wit? We know there's at least 5 million of you.
