Meg Whitman Campaign Releases Video Short On Jerry Brown's Love-Hate Bromance With Bill Clinton

Jerry Brown didn't make it as Bill Clinton's Vice President.
The Meg Whitman campaign couldn't just stand by as Jerry Brown basked in the saxophone glow of Bill Clinton. Oh no.

The Republican's spinmeisters had to point out the irony in the former president's rally for Democratic opponent Brown Friday evening at UCLA. You see, Clinton and J.B. weren't always the best of friends. In fact, they had some harsh words for each other when Brown tried to get the donkeys' nod for presidential nominee in 1992.

So the Whitman campaign is unleashing an eight-minute clip job of a film called The Way We Were: Starring Jerry and Bill at a special screening Friday at LA Live downtown.

A Whitman spokeswoman told us "it's about their real relationship -- which is much more rocky."

Way to rain on Brown's parade.
