Benjamin Houghton, L.A. Homicide No. 213: 40-Year-Old Man Shot Dead In South L.A.

A black man shot dead just before 1:30 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 25, has been identified as 40-year-old Benjamin Houghton. The shooting took place at South Broadway and West 88th Street in South L.A.

Houghton was declared dead at at St. Francis Medical Center on Saturday, five days after the shooting.
LAPD Detective Kerri Potter told the Los Angeles Times that officers found Houghton with multiple gunshot wounds after responding to a call reporting the crime.
