'Dancing With The Stars' Election 2010: Is Bristol Palin The Beneficiary Of A Right-Wing Coup?

• bristol palin should step up to the plate and bow out of this competition and walk away with dignity instead of allowing political bloggers to use her as a pawn . if she does not make a speech saying she does not feel the votes were cast in good faith then she will have to live with the good, bad and ugly the rest of her life. so bristol either walk away like a real star by conceding or stay and dance for the puppeteers.

• Wow. Voter fraud? Are you serious? This is a dance competition where average people are encouraged to vote for their favorite contestants. The average American will usually vote for the person they identify with. Brandy acted like she knew she was going to win, when popular vote is a determining factor, acting overly confident or entitled is bad politics. Bristol made it through because people can identify with her better. Obviously many of you who added comments here, as well as the writer of this article, embody Brandy's attitude that you are better than everyone else and therefor your opinion is the only one of merit. But in the end Bristol might win, not because she is a better dancer, but because humility is a much more attractive quality to have than outright arrogance.

JENNIFER GREY LOOKS LIKE TEENAGER COMPARED TO BRISTOL. why IS SHE GETTING FATTER WITH EACH EPISODE? SHE NOW HAS A DOUBLE CHIN TO GO WITH HER TUBBY WAIST. THIS HAS BEEN THE MOST OUTRAGEOUS COMPETITION.WHEN DOES SCANDAL MAKE YOU A STAR??? SHE SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ON THE SHOW AT ALL!! SHE IS NOT A STAR,SETS A POOR EXAMPLE. HAVE A BABY OUT OF WEDLOCK AND YOU TOO CAN BECOME A NATIONAL STAR!!! SO SICK! THERE IS ENOUGH BAD NEWS IN THE WORLD ..HAVING BRISTOL ON DWTS JUST REMINDER US OF WHY THIS COUNTRY IS IN SUCH TERRIBLE SHAPE..BAD PEOPLE SCREWING WITH THE INTEGRITY OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE.BUSH, THE WAR, SHELTERS FOR THE RICH, STOLEN CAMPAIGNS AND BRISTOL!!

• This is the SECOND article in short order about this exact same thing - we got it the first time, this shows bias in itself. Like I said before, I saw some stats that 6 out of 10 dancers who end up winning belong to some sort of fundamentalist Christian network, and there are many others like anyone who belongs to a Disney fan club. Bristol isn't the only one with left feet and no aptitude for dance who's beaten out better-qualified candidates. The whole system of voters calling in is rigged towards those with the most active fan base, and in this case I'm sure Mama Palin's base. This has never been a "fair" competition, or mainly about who's the best dancer - just ask the judges who say so all the time. That makes the entire premise of the show stupid, blame them, not just the Palins for taking advantage. I give kudos to Bristol for showing up and trying at all, since it's clearly hard for her and she often seems to be angry when the cameras intrude on her practice. Unlike Mama she doesn't seem to crave publicity, she's just an average girl who got knocked up by a jerk and is thrust into limelight far beyond her comfort zone. Is the campaign using her? Probably. But many of these dancers are B and C-list people trying to restart their careers. If it were a Democratic pol or family member trying to revive a career would make no difference. Really ODD how this paper which is so biased for Republican jerks Cooley and his puppet Trutanuch seem to hate Palin so. Maybe you could have done more to give Kamala Harris equal time and PR to Cooley. Instead of leaving it to the weird L A Times which has been hiring former Republican staffers left and right to bash her and promote him. Or to what passes for political blogs in this town, the Ron Kaye/Higby Republican edits. And exposed him and his puppet for the party hack he is INSTEAD OF buying the puppet's fake PR, he's just a small-town lawyer who used his juice with Cooley to get clients accused of rape and such and get them lenient sentences or get them off, the "fixer" on speed-dial for USC's dubious football program under Pete Carroll, and now he's throwing petulant fits and showing boarish behavior all over the place. Making our city look bad, wasting money, making bad decisions, prosecuting instead of settling even when it's wrong, and now, he's cut the one program Rocky left as a solid legacy: the neighborhood prosecutor program. To make a petty point that he wants more money or he will use what he's got for his secret investigator force beholden only to himself, INSTEAD. He's already depleted various special accounts meant for public good for his pet projects to bolster his power and ambition. What does it say about Cooley for recruiting this guy and shilling for him while a siting DA and grooming him to take his place? If you want to write article after article about someone, pick on HIM not Palin's hapless daughter who's not hurting anyone. Sorry I don't agree with above comment that she's beautiful and gifted - no evidence of that - but she's barely old enough to be called a woman and has a baby with a jerk, is doing the best she can in the spotlight. I'm a Democrat but I think this is unfair and a waste of column space compared to stuff that could affect our lives.

• Gee, I wonder why you are picking on Bristol and Mark? In all the seasons past there has always been an underdog people like. One who has never danced and is coming along great, example Kelly Osbourne whom I loved. This year it's Kurt and Rick (sad but voted off) and Bristol. I can only imagine this stupid article on Bristol can only be because she is a Palin, if she was some libs daughter you'd be singing a different tune. Chunky? That is a sick comment. She is beautiful and gifted w/ a great figure. Grow up and take politics out of the show.
