Imperial Stars Band Members Face Conspiracy Charges After Blocking 101 Freeway In Hollywood For Publicity Stunt

The D.A.'s office on Tuesday announced that three band members from Imperial Stars were each hit with charges of felony conspiracy after the truck they were in parked across lanes of the freeway near Sunset Boulevard and members got on the roof and performed a song "Traffic Jam 101."

"This was not a matter involving free speech or lawful protest," said D.A. Steve Cooley. "This was a well-orchestrated commercial stunt perpetrated by these defendants and their accomplices with no concern for the lives or well-being of thousands of innocent victims who were caught up in the prank.

The complaint alleges one felony count of conspiracy to commit a public nuisance against three named band members and 50 John and Jane Does. It also charges the defendants with one misdemeanor count each of public nuisance and false imprisonment, and two misdemeanor counts of resisting, obstructing or delaying Los Angeles police and California Highway Patrol officers.

Defendants were named as Christopher Roy Wright, 32, David Paul Hale, 30, and Keith R. Yackey, 32. They were due in court Tuesday for arraignment. They have already been arrested and freed after each posting $20,000 bail.

Apparently authorities have yet to ID the driver of the truck, but the D.A.'s office stated that when they do, they'll charge him/her too.

The douches defendants say they pulled off the stunt in order to bring attention to the plight of homeless children (and not to bring media attention -- which they soaked up -- to their crap, "hardcore hip-hop" act).
