Don't let your tax dollars go toward your own arrest this weekend.

If you happen to find yourself driving down Washington Boulevard between Abbot Kinney Boulevard and Yale Avenue between 8 p.m. and 2 a.m. on Friday night (and probably a little while after, for all you straggling club rats), make sure you can walk a straight line.

La Opinion suspects the checkpoints are also a setup for illegal immigrants, so if you're paperless and don't want your car impounded, you too should consider a sharp left on Yale before the booby trap.

City News Service reports that the LAPD will set up shop at the Washington Boulevard location (below) to conduct sobriety tests and check for driver's licenses:

LAPD Officer Don Iman reminds you that even after the hellish night behind bars, DUI classes and lawyer expenses can exceed $10,000. So yeah -- don't do it.
