Three Victims, Possibly Taggers, Dead After Amtrak Train Hits Them In Commerce

Three males were dead after an Amtrak Pacific Surfliner train struck them in Commerce Monday night, according to reports.
The pair might have been suspected taggers, and the area where they were hit shortly after 8:30 p.m. -- in the 6500 block of East 26th Street -- has a lot of graffiti, reported Fox 11 News' Tony Valdez.
He said the conductor reported seeing a third "man" on the track, and later Jeff Gordon of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department confirmed a third fatality.
The Surfliner runs from San Diego to San Luis Obispo. The train was apparently moving south from a stop at Union Station when the two or three here hit. The train was headed to Union Station downtown when it the collision happened, authorities said.
City News Service reported that Amtrak train 462 included double-decker passenger cars.
