Jeff Stenroos Lied, LAPD Chief Charlie Beck Says: Entire Shooting at El Camino High School Was Fake, Manhunt Cancelled

LAUSD's finest -- campus cops -- eff things up again.
Los Angeles Police Chief Charlie Beck tonight accused LAUSD campus cop Jeff Stenroos of staging his own shooting shooting himself near El Camino Real High School last week, creating a fake story about a gunman shooting him -- and setting off a massive manhunt, multi-school lockdown and shutdown of 7 square miles of the West San Fernando Valley.

It's time for a grand jury and California Attorney General Kamala Harris to fully probe the Los Angeles School Police. Stenroos is Job 1. But also probe the campus cops who accuse 18-year-old Jeremy Marks of "attempted lynching" for merely photographing an LASPD cop hitting another Verdugo Hills High School student. And don't forget "LAUSD's Finest," an LA Weekly investigation into this inept, tiny force of campus cops. Here's the latest:

At a press conference shortly after 9 pm tonight, Beck announced what had been rumored among the media for two days: there is no "suspect" at large with a silver pony-tail, and Officer Stenroos is under arrest.

Holy mother of God. When is an outside investtigation going to do a full and long overdue look at the nasty stuff unfolding inside this non-transparent police department overseen by the Los Angeles Unified School Board -- which can't oversee third-grade recess with consistent success?

As we and many others reported, after the alleged "shooting" by an "assailant" last week, the officer was widely praised for being smart enough to wear his Kevlar vest.

What a joke! Now Beck's crack team of investigators are looking into how he allegedly managed to fake his shooting and convince so many people.

Thousands of West Valley residents in Woodland Hills and West Hills could not get to their homes for hours as Beck ordered a massive perimeter and closed roads.

Seven public schools were locked down, and some children were forced to pee in special buckets of kitty litter kept in a closet for lockdowns. The threat of a wild-eyed gunman on the loose was considered so real that kids were not allowed to go to the bathrooms just down the hall.

San Fernando Valley parents were talking about suing because some children were all but imprisoned in classrooms without food for up to six hours.

Several hundred federal and local cops scoured Woodland Hills, and then announced that the "silver-haired man" must live locally because no "getaway car" was found.

What a horrific mess.

And did everyone notice Big Chief Gates took the opportunity to hold a press conference about "Cop Killer Bullets"? What a load of s---! No pistol round will penetrate a properly worn vest - that's why they're called bulletproof vests! In fact, the manufacturer of "second Chance" vest does a demonstration where he puts a .44 magnum to his chest and cranks off a round! Big bruise on his chest, but NO penetration through the vest. The Chief is obviously just another one of those Nazis who think "Only cops should have guns".

As a "taxpayer" do you really care? 4 years ago those words never came out of a mayor, president etc... and noone cared. So why do we care now??? Get off of the "bandwagon"

I thought the Jeremy Marks case was bad but this takes the cake. I hope LAUSD can clean up the corruption. This story has made for TV movie written all over it. Stenroos is a total D-bag.

Does LAUSD hire on different qualifications than LAPD? About 2 years ago a LAUSD cop decided to ticket some kids skateboarding in Pacific Palisades. As I recall being reported in the Palisades Post, the cop maced one of the mobile menaces, then maced an adult who happened by, and wound up calling for backup to handle the "mob" of kids and over the hill Palisadians who gathered to see what all the ruckus was about. This cop was transfered and no one knows what became of him. No one could access his prior history and the whole thing just "went away." But incidents like that and this one are a genuine concern. Who supervises these people? What training do they receive? If this Woodland Hills cop is fired does he get a pension? Is he being paid even now while LAUSD figures out how to fire him?

Hi Mr. X, I don't know if Stenroos getst a pension if fired, but my guess is yes. Don't forget, the Grim Sleeper suspect, Lonnie Franklin Jr., is getting $1,300 a month in pension for a torn rotator cuff he claimed in the '80s. He gets that for life, even if convicted of serial murder. and of course, the rotator cuff is a lie. If he is the Grim Sleeper, he lifted deadweight bodies -- his victims -- and hurled them into garbage bins. But Los Angeles City Hall has no team, no investigators, charged with probing or videotaping these "lifetime disability" awardees to see if they lied. Nada. Once awarded, the checks arrive monthly, for life. Grim Sleeper will get $1 million, total, from the city of LA, if he lives to 82.

Just another rotten apple people, every profession has it, medical, clergy, teachers, etc. This guy simply slipped through the cracks during background, interviews, or Psychological evaluations. Lets not stereotype every law enforcement officer out there. Theyre not the ones mass murdering people, shooting congresswomen in the head, blowing buildings in Oklahoma, etc.

You're an idiot "element" to paint everyone with the same brushstroke. There are "bad apples" in EVERY line of work. The police department has to hire from the human race and on top of that, the ACLU makes it very hard to pick only the finest. Wake up.

Like I said, wake up. You're the one in the fantasy world. I'd like to see who you call when someone breaks into your house or attacks someone in your family. You're probably a cop-hater because you're a slimeball criminal!

LAUSD Police have a new Chief of Police, Steve Zipperman, a top notch Officer who retired from LAPD in December. He just started the school police three week ago, He is a very competent, no nonsense leader who will snap that department into place. He's up to the challenge.

Those things happen all over the country. The justice system believes everything that those cops say and disbelieves everuthing that ordinary citizes say. Its time to review that policy. There are many innocent people that were falsely accused by the cops and got convicted. Its a shame that theu are above all other citizens.
