Los Angeles Farmers Stadium? L.A.'s Proposed NFL Venue Downtown Might Already Have Naming-Rights Deal

Cletus would like L.A. Farmers Stadium.
Los Angeles has been called many things - douchetown, Mexico City II, land of the celebutard. But a heartland of farming it is not.

So you have to hand it to the folks at Anschutz Entertainment Group, the people behind Staples Center and the proposal to build an NFL stadium downtown. They're also naming-rights wizards, and if this rumor is true, they pulled off a doozy.

According to the tweets of Sports Illustrated's Peter King, the yet-to-be-approved stadium with a so-far-nonexistent team might have a naming rights deal with Farmers Insurance.

Los Angeles Farmers Stadium? Maybe. Not only that, but the deal is said to be worth a possible $400 over 20 years, which would seriously defray the cost of the structure, now said to be in the, er, ballpark of $1.5 billion.

So who cares if the name doesn't exactly fit this city by the sea. It's all about the cash, and that, our friends, is Los Angeles to the bone.

And speaking of money men, in a story about the dueling stadium plans between AEG (headed locally by Tim Leiweke) and its partner in developing Staples Center (Majestic Realty and its boss Ed Roski), the New York Times reports that Roski made his V.P., John H. Semcken III, apologize to Leiweke after call him a "bad man" in a quote given to the Orange County register recently.

Farmers insurance has $700 million for a stadium but refuse to pay it's policy holders the medical care money they need to exist when struggling with life threatening medical problems. John Boehner-U.S. Congressman- this is one of those death panel cases Obama wants to spread to all taxpayers. The insurance companies write the laws they want you politicians in Washington to pass with all the loopholes so they don't have to pay the customers. Congress, you were elected to represent the taxpayers, not to fill your pockets, becoming multi-millionaires. Uphold the citizens, the Constitution, justice and not the Soro's, Marxists, maoists, new world order advocates who are destroying our country for personal gain.

Who ever wrote this article doesn't know squat about Los Angeles History. Because if anything LA started as a farming community Hollywood and all that other crap came later. Check your facts. By the way it's not Mexico City II it's little Mexico

AEG should have more fun with the naming rights because this sloppily planned stadium proposal will never get built. So they'll never collect naming money anyway. Call it the Enron stadium. This name is fitting because Enron started the California electricity crisis, and AEG is starting the traffic crisis downtown.
