Porn Industry Clinic Shut Down, But Anti-Porn Group Says It's Still Operating: L.A. County Leaders Pressed for Action Against Condom-Free Adult Films
The porn industry's main STD testing clinic was shut down Dec. 9 by state and county authorities because it didn't have a California medical clinic license. So who's testing the adult stars? Because at least some of them are working, and Vivid Entertainment, the industry's biggest porn production house, has said it's still shooting.

That's what the AIDS Healthcare Foundation wants to know. Whitney Engeran-Cordova, the group's director of public health, says AHF has "multiple unconfirmed reports that AIM may still be operating in some capacity despite a license."
She plans to address the L.A. County Board of Supervisors Tuesday morning.
Of course, the Adult Industry Healthcare Foundation clinic has stated that the closure did not affect all of its activities and that it was "a temporary situation."
But the bigger issue for the AIDS Healthcare folks is who's minding the store while porn production continues in violation of state law that mandates condom use. The group wants the county's leaders to press its own public health officials to regulate the mostly L.A.-based industry.
"The county has a responsibility to protect adult film workers' safety and we want to remind them of this duty and ask what County officials may be doing on this," Engeran-Cordova said in a statement.
