Anti-Porn Industry Protesters Hit the Xbiz Awards in Hollywood, Try to Shame Larry Flynt, Steve Hirsch
We're not sure what's sadder, that sources tell us the Xbiz Awards are known in the industry as the Golden Globes of porn, or that anti-porn protesters found the Hollywood event Wednesday worthy of targeting.

(If you must know, the Female Performer of the Year was Andy San Dimas. And yes, she would like to thank her fans, even if they're clapping with one hand).
Anyway, yeah, the folks from AIDS Healthcare Foundation were out in force, telling the porn industry to literally put a lid on it ...
... as in condoms. The organization has been after the adult video biz, urging it to adhere to state law requiring condom use on-set.

The porn makers continue to resist, saying that such fare doesn't sell.
The awards ceremony took place at the Hollywood Palladium.
AHF honcho Michael Weinstein called out Hustler's Larry Flynt and Vivid Entertainment's Larry Hirsch:

"Existing California law already requires the use of condoms by adult film actors working in the state's multi-billion dollar adult entertainment industry; however, the industry--led by scofflaws Larry Flynt of Hustler and Steve Hirsch of Vivid--continues to defy worker safety laws, jeopardizing the health and safety of adult film performers working here. Flynt and Hirsch are both longstanding and vocal critics of safer sex measures and condom use in their adult film productions. We decided to bring this message about adult film worker safety to the XBIZ Awards to educate the stars, producers and the general public attending tonight."
