Given the fact that males under the age of 18 (all but one involved in this crime) cannot legally have sex with anyone I really don't find these forceable criminal acts all that surprising.

Maybe if it were legal for some hotish 35 year old female to pay these underaged boys money for sex they might be to busy with her to go out and rape 11 year olds.

blaming city government is no excuse for what those kids did. city government does not have the responsibility to raise our children and to teach them a set of morals. Just because recreational services within the community have been discontinued or curtailed doesn't give anyone the right to go out and committ a violent crime or any crime for that matter and then turn around and say that it's the government fault. All of us regardless of race, color or creed have the responsibility to make sure our kids adhere to a strict policy of right and wrong and if that is violated then be wiling to be responsible for there actions.

I live in this area... and it is bad!!! There is a police stattion right across the street...in does not help any....Parents... You need to know where your children are? Kids these days have no business being out hanging out at late hours. I have 4 teens. ... i know they can lie about there wher abouts..but i do have GPS... and if they leave from where i dropped them off.. it alerts me! No excuse to not know where your kids are!!!!!

If you come down from your ivory tower you will find that in low income areas that this is common, kids staying out after dark. It can be attributed to many things, parents that work late hours, parents in jail, parents that don't care. This should be looked at as a failure to parent as well as a vile crime against the child. I hope that the DA prosecutes these criminals as adults.

i do not understand why we continue to suffer this type of horrible crimes.Gang member do what gang members vow to do. I would be willing to take the collateral damage of shooting on sight of gang members. And, not just by the Police, by anyone. i believe that the total damage to innocent people would be a fraction of what we put up with now around the countryI am fortunate enough to live in a safe neighborhood, but i realize that we force people who are less fortunate, to live in neighborhood where violence is the norm. It is a great injustice to all those poor people, at least give them the weapons and the right to defend themselves.
