Last night, police identified a motorcyclist who died on the Pacific Coast Highway on Wednesday as 41-year-old Joseph Annocki, a Los Angeles resident originally from Pennsylvania.

Annocki was heading east on the PCH near Zuma Beach at about 8:45 p.m. just as a white sedan -- driven by two tourists from Oklahoma -- pulled out of the parking lot for Geoffrey's Malibu, a ritzy seaside restaurant.

The driver of the rental car, immediately identified as 50-year-old Terry Turner, passed all sobriety tests conducted by Malibu/Lost Hills sheriff's deputies at the scene.

According to City News Service, Turner told deputies that he and his passenger -- 47-year-old Donna Martin -- were on vacation in SoCal.

Annocki was declared dead where he lay. His Facebook profile names his hometown as Philadelphia, PA, and lists Orange County Choppers, a custom motorcycle manufacturer, as one of his interests.

Joey and I had moved to Malibu eight days before the accident. I was about a minute behind him and drove up to find him laying there while a Geoffrey's employee tried to resuscitate him. I called his name thinking he would open his eyes, but the accident was so bad that I finally had to come to grips with the fact that he wouldn't. I overheard the first person to get to him say that Joey had no pulse when he got there...at least he didn't suffer. I miss him terribly and cherish the eight days we spent together in our apartment. We often talked about getting married and having children and I know that he would have been an amazing husband and father...he was the kindest, most loving person you could ever meet.

I'm sorry for your loss 'deeply sad'. Motorcycles don't stand a chance when up against a car, especially when driver confusion is at play. He was taken too soon....my condolences to your family.

He was my cousin, and such a great guy. Its a shame that this other person made such a horrible mistake that took my cousin's life. People need to wake up and pay attention IN ANY STATE YOUR IN WHEN DRIVING, cars are not toys. they can be death machines and you have to be fully aware of how to operate it. Motorcyles i think should be outlawed indefinitley. RIP we loved him and will miss him greatly.
