Watch it.
Ah, spring. A lingering winter storm system, college kids going ape shit, and ...

LAPD DUI checkpoints. That's right, it's time for our weekly checkpoint tip sheet.

The department actually wants you to know they're on the job, looking for drunktards, in hopes that maybe this information will discourage you entirely from going Lindsay Lohan behind the wheel. Will it?

Only you can prevent DUIs.

States the po-po:

Sobriety checkpoints are a proven enforcement tool effective in reducing the number of persons killed and injured in alcohol involved crashes, as well as being an valuable means for heightening awareness of the dangers of impaired driving.

And so, here's what you want to avoid:

Topanga Canyon Boulevard between Devonshire Street and Chatsworth Street in Chatsworth on Friday between 8 p.m. and 2 a.m.

Cheers.

Why help anti-social idiots who drink and drive? FFS! Oh, sorry, it's a RIGHT to do so in LA as there's no public transport system and people are too cheap to get a cab, want their 'freedom' (how's about freedom from having to drink to socialise, bitches?) and are selfish. I hope they crash into a tree whilst driving alone and become permanently disfigured to remind them of what life's priorities should be.

There is a legal requirement I think, about the police notifying the public for DUI checkpoints. Anyway, while it really is up to the driver whether or not he will drive drunk, the knowledge that the authorities are around to keep an eye out for drunk drivers is still a deterrant. After all, why drink and drive if you know the place is going to be crawling with cops?
