Road Rage in Reseda: Fender Bender Leads to Crazed Box-Cutter Stabbing at Auto Body Shop

Better not to keep in the glove box
Next time you feel the rumblings of road rage begin to spread to your fingers (as only it can in the traffic-opolis that is Los Angeles), remember the sad fate of 26-year-old Marvin Osvaldo Gonzalez, a Van Nuys resident who let his rage get the best of him yesterday.

Gonzalez had just been involved in a fender bender with an unidentified 42-year-old. No word on who was at fault, but the aftermath included a 1 p.m. trip to Hart Auto Body on Reseda Boulevard.

That's when Gonzalez unleashed the pain...

... "slashing" his accident buddy with a "sharp box cutter," according to City News Service.

Of course, the suspect was promptly arrested for assault with a deadly weapon causing great bodily harm (it's true -- box cutters mean business), and now must deal with much greater consequences than getting the ding on his car fixed.

The victim was reported as "seriously injured." So... hopefully that puts things into perspective for your morning/afternoon commute. Road rage is dangerous stuff. Don't let a crazed box-cutter stabbing happen to you.

Well, if they would've just called the LAPD at the onset, they could've impounded the box cutter, but released the suspect's/victim's vehicle to a friend or relative. (New LAPD Policy Same Old Special Order 44 Type Crap). I'm betting either the wacko-attacker/vitim was unlicensed and uninsured, and that's why they ended up at a body shop instead of just exchanging information like civilized people and letting the insurance companies knife each other over money and property damage. Or, alternatively, I could be way out there, and they could've just wanted to avoid the insurance company altogether. Cutting out the middle man so to speak. Or it could've been a set-up accident and attempted extortion. None of this type of activity unheard of in LA. And is it really road rage if the assault is committed at a business or parking lot well after the fact?
